That is definitely a benefit to living on the west coast!

So far today has been spent crawling on my belly under the laudry room getting landscape fabric installed before we put vinyl lattice up. I truly dislike doing anything under there because there is very little clearance, my hair gets caught in the hardware cloth that I installed over the insulation, I get filthy dirty. Even lizards and snakes have a nicer time crawling on their bellies than I do! This was my fifth, and hopefully last, trip under. One good hot shower later I plan on staying inside and being a girl. Big pot of spaghetti sauce simmering! Dogs are sleeping! Bottle of wine open on the counter!!!

icky......... creepy crawly things hide UNDER houses.

I noticed there are already spiders gathering and building webs around the shop. I so don't like spiders! With the very mild winter we have had I expect the population will be out of control this year. So - I'm buying some good insecticide and keeping it in a handy spot! I like Home Defense - it kills those little (big) buggers in seconds!

When I see God - I'm going to ask.......... "WHY SPIDERS???"

Well, spiders weren't the problem under the house, it was rats. This place was vacant for a number of years and the rats had a heyday!

almost as bad as spiders............. but rats eat spiders so I'm inclined to like them better --- or hate them less I should say.

I feel one can reason with rats. Spiders...not so much. I do put them outside, though, unlike certain stampers on the board.

Believe it or not, spiders do serve a purpose. I just don't know what that is in my bathtub, though.

Spiders are cool, as are bats and snakes - as long as they aren't the deadly-to-humans kind.

Now Texas cockroaches, centipedes (the long-legged kind that zoom across your cellar floor faster than a NASCAR race car), hornets, yellowjackets, B-52 sized brown wasps, tapeworm proglottids, human pinworms, and feline roundworms... Barf.

And would you believe that I actually was bitten by a ladybug a couple weeks ago?! (They overwinter in a lot of folks' walls around these parts.)
I have a mantra that I have spouted for years... "If I eat right, I feel right. If I feel right, I exercise right. If I exercise right, I think right. If I think right, I eat right..." Phil-SC
