    Whole30 approved salad dressing recipes?

    Primal Fuel
I've tried oil and vinegar and don't care for it. I've tried saving pan drippings but never seem to have enough. What else can I use? Straight salad isn't cutting it and I hate forcing myself to eat anything but that's what I've come to. I've made a huge green salad with the plan for it to be lunch for a couple days but without the sugary sweet French dressing I'm having trouble. Even slicing up the steak or chicken I've been cooking as a side and mixing it all together isn't making it more palatable. Any ideas?

Balsamic Caesar: blend up egg yolks, anchovies, lemon juice, garlic, and dijon, drizzle in olive oil until emulsified, then finish with some worcestershire, balsamic vinegar, and parmesan

Parmesan balsamic: fresh basil, balsamic, garlic, dijon, parmesan, lemon juice, and olive oil

Tzatziki: greek yogurt, dill, cumin, lemon juice, garlic, and a dash of cayenne

Roasted pear vinaigrette: cut pears in half, place in a pan with 2 cups of apple cider vinegar, roast at 350 until pears are soft. Blend the leftover juices with raw onion, dijon, olive oil, and a little honey. Let the pears cool and add them to your salad

Creamy tomato dressing: blend canned whole tomatoes, heavy whipping cream, worcestershire, cayenne, and garlic

Citrus vinaigrette: lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, fresh basil, dijon, garlic, orange peel, and olive oil

It may or may not be to everyone's liking, but when I have a salad, I spray it with olive oil (a Misto sprayer is great for olive oil) and then squeeze half a lemon or lime over the top.

Olive oil and vinegar alone can be kind of boring, see if you can get any infused oils (I have some garlic infused olive oil that is kickass) or mix together the vinaigrette with some herbs/seasonings (I like basic and garlic) and let them sit for a while before use.

    Good luck!

Making it into mayo really helps oil. But just chopping a hardboiled egg and mixing it into the salad too makes a big difference. And salt! And, more optionally, pepper.

d'oh! didn't even think of home-made mayo. Guess I'm gonna need more eggs. Is there an ABSOLUTELY fool proof home-made mayo recipe that you've done and can guarantee I can't screw up? I tried one of the one's Mark listed on the blog and it was yuck. Julia Child says her's is full-proof but after messing up Mark's I haven't given it a try.
