    Cashews? Are they primal?

They seem so peanut-like so I looked them up to see if they are legumes but wikipedia tells me they are technically a SEED. And grow inside a cashew FRUIT!! Who knew/? Any cashew eaters around here? Are they on the "avoid" list? I do love cashew butter!

Cashews are moderately low in PUFA, with a total of 7.8 grams per 100 grams, most of it in omega-6 fat. They are a good source of magnesium, phosphorus, copper and manganese.

    Cashews: 1,866 mg/100 grams

They are so so as Primal foods. OK to add some to a dish sometimes but not good to eat everyday, like I do. Hehe.

I don't care if they are or not. I love cashews, and will continue to eat them! They aren't horrible for you or anything, and are a whole lot better than most things in the grocery store.

I hear you. I won't give them up completely unless someone proves they will take years off my live. Fat chance.

If you can find truly raw cashews, sprout them! Sprouted cashews have an AWESOME flavor. They're much sweeter this way. :]

Technically not primal, but I'd put them in the gray of things that aren't all that bad for you, but probably shouldn't be eaten in large amounts daily.

VERY true, which is why I really do need to keep them out of the house. I seem to do ok if they are in a mixed nut type situation, but even so, dangerous food for me to have around! I can eat a ridiculous amount if I'm not careful. Heck, even when I am careful.
