He also failed to mention that the original pledge that Bellamy wrote did not say "under god." That was edited in years later.

Also, those dang Nazis ruined the salute!

I'm trying to understand why they felt the need to ban the Pledge of Allegience from the meetings. I just don't see where "being compelled" comes into it. You always have the freedom to not say it, while banning it from a meeting takes away the freedom to say it.

I guess I don't get the point to banning something when some people don't want to participate. Then just don't participate. It's truly not that hard to sit quietly and respectfully. Am I missing something?

    Kenn and kbn1:

It goes further back than those dates you posted.

Read " The Hologram of Liberty" by Kenneth W. Royce. It is available from Amazon (of course) and as an internet download from many sources.

Lets you know why many of the original renowned patriots and especially the entire state of Rhode Island would have nothing to do with the constitution.

The Revolutionary War had nothing to do with liberty and taxation. That 'shot heard round the world' was about one thing.

The colonialists had endured taxation and other injustices for many years. They spent over a decade trying to improve things through Parliament.

The spark that ignited the flame of insurrection was not taxation. It was not those injustices. It was guns.

The British were ordered to start in Concord and begin collecting all of the guns that the people owned. Bunker Hill and Concord were the original "Come and Take It" cries.

This weekend is tied with a special day in the first half of September for being my favorite holidays.

However I am strange in that I prefer celebrating without the imitation fire fights.

The Federal Reserve Act was passed on that day, and the country has been in decline ever since.

ok, to be more accurate, the country was in decline long before then, but there have been no brakes to slow down the decline since 12/23/1913.
