Yep, it's probably seasonal, and after a few weeks you might miss it despite the weather. Idk much about the needs of people that are anemic though...
I have absolutely no appetite for beef, pork, or lamb at all. I only crave seafood like shrimp, scallops, fish, and clams. Sometimes chicken breast. The thought of heavier meats just makes me ill. I wish it wasn't so, but it is. I am anemic and don't know why something high in iron makes me feel ill, but it does. I also am grossed out by dark meat chicken right now. Eggs are okay, but I eat way less of them than I was.
What is wrong with me? Absolutely no desire for fat, other than nuts, occasional fatty fish (actually prefer white fish now), olive oil, or some grassfed butter. I used to love it, but am seriously grossed out by it. Is it just because it's hot out? All I want to eat is salad with seafood or chicken and fruit. And I have lost 11 pounds in a month.
Should I just go with it?

I'd say go with it for a while and see what happens. Part of this WOE is learning to listen to our bodies and giving them what they need, rather than what we think they need. Sometimes I crave lots of fat, sometimes not, just like I go through phases where I only want meat and salad, other times I'll feel like a big sweet potato for brekkie, lunch and dinner for a week
As long as you aren't suffering because you're not getting a particular nutrient that you are deficient in it shouldn't be an issue. Seafood (including some fatty fish like salmon a couple of times a week), eggs, veggies and fruit sounds like a pretty good diet to me![]()
I'd say just go with it. If you're losing weight and feel good and still eating some animal protein then you should listen to your body!
And for the anemia try hema-plex (I get it from I-herb). I was anemic and taking that fixed it up quick and no icky side effects like some other forms of iron.
i go through cycles with the meat i eat, right now it's chicken and seafood because red meat is too 'dense' for me to handle. just go with it, it's fine
Food Data Chart - Iron
significant sources of iron: parsley, spinach, sesame seeds, coconut, almonds, pistachios, mussels, oysters, scallops
“The whole concept of a macronutrient, like that of a calorie, is determining our language game in such a way that the conversation is not making sense." - Dr. Kurt Harris
Hema-plex! That is what I've been meaning to buy. Do you take the full dose everyday? I was taking Floradix, but it is too expensive. A friend recommended Hema-plex and I saw it at the store, but didn't know which version to buy (gel caps or the tablet). It seems like a lot of iron...will it be too much to take as an ongoing thing?
OMG, all I want to do is eat clams lately and this website says clams are one of the highest sources of iron. So funny that my body was trying to tell me what to eat, even though I didn't know they're high in iron.

ETA: another site says clams have 24 mg of iron in only 3 oz...way more than red meat. I guess I'm going to stop worrying about the anemia with regard to my new food preferences. lol

The tablet is a once a day slow release thing. The gel caps come in 2 a day (60 ct)or 3 a day(90 ct) to get the full amount of iron. I went with the 90 count gel caps where you should take 3 a day but only ever took 1 or 2 and they still worked amazing. I continue to take 1 on most days.
