Never say never. There are some really good grain-free pizza recipes kicking around this forum. Some use almond flour for the crust or cauliflower rice but some skip the crust and are better known as "meatza" and use ground beef for the "pie shell". It is rarely the topping that up your blood sugar. Nothing wrong with mushrooms and peppers and onions and pepperoni (if it not full of preservatives and fillers). Every once in a while I just really want a stay at home date night with a good movie and some pizza, but the typical wheat crust leaves me bloated and uncomfortable. Home made almond crust is like a crispy thin crust alternative with way more protein and none of the side effects. Plus it fills you up after a couple slices. I always found I was still hungry after traditional take out pizza.
