Go to the Emergency Room. Simple blood test will reveal a liver issue. You can jaundice in other related ways. Just go get checked out.
I know the first thing you're going to say: "GO SEE A DOCTOR!" I will as soon as I'm able to. Right now I'd like some information that will help me out though.
So after having a tough time staying with mostly primal foods over the last month or so, I think I've finally gotten over the willpower hump and I'm able to control what I eat without worrying about junk food cravings. It's been hard because I live at home still. But the last few days have been tricky and I haven't had access to many vegetables. I've been having lots of eggs (4+) a day, good amount of meats, some carrots/greens, couple fruits, and canned coconut milk (to make sure sure I get enough calories by the end of the day). Some days I know I'm not getting enough to eat though. Yesterday I calculated I only had about 1200 calories total when I probably need 2000+ to maintain my weight. I'm also afraid I may be going in and out of ketosis.
So today my mom says she's worried about me because my skin's looking a little yellow. Obviously this isn't good, but I want to know if it's more likely related to liver disease or just that I'm not getting enough nutrients in the day to help my liver do its job. Or if it's just from not eating enough in general.

Sweetie!, Yes go see a doctor when you can.
Are the whites of your eyes yellow too?
In general, fasting and healthy fats are good for your liver.
As has already been said, go to the emergency room.

is your skin more of an orange colur than yellow. (check the inside of your arms - where they hang against your body. This part is usually white so the colour change should show there. if it is weird yellow/orange coloured and the whites of your eyes look yellow, get thee to a doctor. stat.
If is just a faint yellowish tinge and the whites of your eyes are still very white, it is likely you are eating a lot more carrotenoids(ie lots of veggies) and your skin will take on a slightly yellowy caste.(think asian skin) You may want to see a doctor in any case.
Cheers

Well just to be clear, right now I can't even see any yellowing of the skin myself, nor in my eyes. After getting some clarification my mom says she's noticed this more in the past when I've eaten more primally. I believe there were times I may have been going in and out of ketosis unknowingly. I've been keeping track of my macros for awhile now but I may have estimated incorrectly by a significant amount at times. So I've definitely upped my carb intake today, and while I don't think an emergency room visit is necessary, of course I'm getting to a doctor soon.
It's also a symptom of adrenal fatigue, specifically Addison's. Don't feel alone, Pres. JFK had it.
Make sure you get enough rest. Google adrenal fatigue and see if something in the reading catches your attention.
When I got mine taken care of, a lot of people commented that my skin color changed a lot pinker.
No need to go to an emergency room. If you are not feeling deathly ill, jaundice is not an emergency. You can wait to go see a doctor during regular office hours. Jaundice in someone young and healthy is often caused by hepatitis - any other problems with your digestion? (Nausea, diarrhea, stomach aches) Are your stools very light in color? Those could all be symptoms of hepatitis. No need to wait for hours and pay exorbitant fees of the ER. If you have been eating a lot of orange vegetables (carrots, squash etc) your skin can take on a orange-yellow cast. But real jaundice causes the whites of your eyes to turn yellow as well. Is it possible your mother is just paranoid about your health? Do YOU think you have yellow skin? How do you feel? Folks with liver problems leading to jaundice usually feel kind of crappy - low energy, run down as well as the above mentioned GI sx.
I'd go to be checked ASAP. A friend of mine began to go yellow recently, went to doctor who sent her to hospital, where a series of scans etc diagnosed pancreatic cancer. They caught it early, thankfully, removed the tumour and when she finishes this course of chemo she should be fine. But early diagnosis is crucial.
