Has anyone found a simple way to keep up with the comments on Kruse's site? This is one of Dr Kruse's comment to Cavemom, who has stalled after losing more than 100 pounds following bariatric surgery:

@Cavemom…….there is a solution for you I believe but I have not written or talked about it just yet. I am planning to unleash it on Jimmy Moore’s cruise or possibly in my book. I promise that just because your vagus nerve has been severed does not mean all is lost. The answer I think is going to shock you.
Here is a preview for you…….
    1. Acute spinal cord damage, nerve compression data, SCI Injury data Miami project, chronic pain, inflammatory cytokines
    2. Leptin, IL6, people with spine disorderswho are LR have pain? MRI findings? Having DDD?, paradox spine surgeons and radiologists see daily, inter-body fusions that have high levels of failures documented in the literature…….unreal amount of joint replacements, neolithic diseases all tied to aging
    3. NASA data, frost bite data from kids, Sherpa findings, Mount Everest, eating grass fed butter/lard to maintain weight, pulmonary edema, great white sharks, dinosaurs, asteroids hitting earth, Amgen’s synthetic leptin trials, Einstein, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Kevin Everrett situation.
    4. environmental stimuli, Zeltiq data, insensate body, principles of dorsal column stimulator, overstimulation confuse’s brain. lowered cytokine response by severely lowering cortisol levels, using sympathetic nervous system while lowering the total local cytokine response, using a paleolithic diet in a new way to get a new result. lowers acute tissue 06/3 levels……. cold urticaria, 06/IL6 levels increased, IL-8 amplifies cytokine response, acutely and chronically change things to make it a feed forward chemical response, can the brain be shut off acutely when the vagus nerve is cut, brain damage, nerve damage, partial nerve injuries, SCI and Bracken Protocol mechanisms, acute or chronic pregnenolone steal syndromes, how does hormone levels matter?, progesterone, BDNF, modulation of nerve growth, shutting down secondary damages
That is all the data points I had before I figured it out……..now you can try until I lay it all out.
He is such a tease! Wonder how many pages this magnus opus will be?

Any thoughts on eating grass fed sweetbreads? Any experience with them? I think my Scottish heritage is bubbling up, next thing you know I'll be posting recipes for Haggis ... hehehe

Do it! I can't find them b/c of the Nanny Government. I've had them in restaurants. I think that you can buy and sell them in food, but the USDA in GA doesn't allow you to take them home from your animal. Stupid stupid stupid.

Hard to believe! It's ok to put poison in processed food as long as the levels are whatever, but you can't take home all parts of the animal you own??? WTF!!!

I also think they sell lots of parts of the animal (like bones) that they don't give the consumer. I'm shocked how little of that we have gotten when we've split a cow. We want them bones for bone broth! Makes one consider learning to process for ourselves.

Maybe you can order them from Missouri? U.S. Wellness Meats — Our Animals Eat Right So You Can Too.

I know people process their own deer and keep everything. I want to learn to hunt this year so I can also learn to process. We can also take wild hogs anywhere, anytime here if we see one because they are "pests" - no license needed if you have a carry permit. I wonder how deer parts compare to cow, lamb, turkey, etc.

My chiropractor makes bone broth from the deer he takes home each season and then dries and decorates the spinal bones and hangs them on his Christmas tree in the office. He gives them out to his patients who want them. Talk about using EVERY part of the animal

Searching for a good Omega 3 supplement

I attached a snippet from the ingredients list, what do you think? If these don't overwhelm you with excitement can you post a link of which ones you highly recommend?

    Thanks in advance!
Ahh the attachment isn't working. Here a link to the ones that I am questioning.

A GREAT article on the number 1 problem with the Thyroid:

    Bromine and Your Thyroid

Adding to the negative health effects of bromine, the damage to your thyroid health deserves special mention.

As stated in the first part of this article, bromine exposure depletes your body’s iodine by competing with iodine receptors. Iodine is crucial for thyroid function. Without iodine, your thyroid gland would be completely unable to produce thyroid hormone.

Even the names of the different forms of thyroid hormone reflect the number of iodine molecules attached -- T4 has four attached iodine molecules, and T3 (the biologically active form of the hormone) has three--showing what an important part iodine plays in thyroid biochemistry.

Hypothyroidism is far more prevalent than once thought in the U.S. The latest estimates are that 13 million Americans have hypothyroidism, but the actual numbers are probably higher. Some experts claim that 10 to40 percent of Americans have suboptimal thyroid function.

Many of these folks may actually have nothing wrong with their thyroid gland at all -- they may just be suffering from iodine deficiency.

Avoid This if You Want to Keep Your Thyroid Healthy

What about the link between Bromine & Hashi?
CLEARLY there is a link that cannot be disputed:

What are the Causes of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis?

    * Environmental Toxins Such as Mercury and Pesticides [which contain bromide]
    * Pregnancy
    * The Food Borne Bacteria Yersinia Enterocolitica Infection
    * Too Little or Too Much Supplemental Iodine
    * Family History of Thyroid Disease
    * Exposure to Radiation
    * Excessive Exposure to Tap Water, Which Contains Flouride and Chlorine
    * Overconsumption of Soy Products [Soy is NOT healthy]

All autoimmune symptoms or “misplaced immunity” are triggered, for the most part, by the cumulative toxic burden on the body [Bromides]. This can include, but not be limited to: stress, injuries, surgery, heavy metals, chemicals, plastics, food additives, food allergies, refined and processed foods, viruses, bacteria, yeast, fungus and mold.

This cumulative toxic insult creates a hospitable terrain in the gut (small intestine) where opportunistic organisms like bad bacteria and parasites can thrive. These bad bacteria can inhibit the growth of the probiotic (literally, “for life”) bacteria that is meant to colonize the lining of the small intestine. Since over 70% of immune-producing cells are created in this lining, this means that what we call our “immune system” is significantly weakened. This, in turn, creates an environment where yeast and fungus can overgrow.

All this can lead to what is called “Leaky Gut Syndrome” or intestinal hyperpermeability. This is when the lining of the intestine, which is permeable, creates holes so that toxins and undigested proteins “leak” out into the bloodstream. When this happens the immune system releases an IL-6 autoimmune reaction where auto-antibodies start to attack and inflame healthy tissue like the joints, the arteries, the bladder and the thyroid.

It requires iodine supplements to rid the thyroid of bromide, chlorine and other toxins afflicting our thyroid, organs & cells which require iodine.

KK- I wouldn't do iodine supplementation. It may be ok to do small amounts of sea veggies, but make sure you're taking selenium if you're going to do that. The amount of iodine needed for thyroid function is pretty minute (Chris Kresser says it's small enough to fit on the head of a pin!)
Like you, my main symptom of a Hashi's flare is hair loss (not really other hyper symptoms) and fatigue/low body temps. I've been on high dose iodine (Iodoral) with a confirmed deficiency and it was not the cure-all that it's touted to be. I felt no benefits from it whatsoever, because my female and hormonal symptoms are all tied into my immune system being overactive and my adrenals being tired. I also tried Iosol and Atomodine with no good results. My mom, who also has Hashi's, had tons of hyper symptoms on iodine. People with Hashi's really DO have to be careful with iodine.

    kk & Hazyjane,
I just ran across this important interview on Hashi -vs- Iodine:

Dr. Eric: There seems to be a great deal of controversy as to whether people with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis should supplement with iodine, even if they have a deficiency. I admittedly have been guilty of this as well, as I always was taught that people with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis should avoid iodine because it will worsen their condition. When I attended your seminar you told the audience you usually have had no problems giving your patients who have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis iodine supplementation. Can you please elaborate on this?

Dr. Brownstein: Animal studies show that you cannot cause Hashimoto’s disease in an animal unless they are iodine deficient and they are given a goitrogen. That is what is happening to our human population; we are iodine deficient and we are exposed to an ever-increasing amount of goitrogens like bromide and fluoride.

Dr. Eric: If it’s fine for people with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis to take iodine, then why do some people feel bad when supplementing with iodine?

Dr. Brownstein: Iodine can cause a detoxification reaction whereby the body releases bromide. I believe this is where many of the adverse effects are coming from. I explain this in my books. My experience has clearly shown that vast majority of patients with autoimmune thyroid disorders improve with iodine when it is used as part of a holistic treatment regimen.

Do some react negatively to iodine? Yes. Iodine is not for everyone, but, my clinical experience has clearly shown adverse effects to iodine are rare when it is used appropriately.

Edit: Bromide linked to Hashi Disease:

Right there in Robb Wolf’s book, The Paleo Solution, on page 94. “Once the gut lining is damaged (by eating grains, dairy, or legumes) we are at exceptionally high risk of autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.” It was nice to find some information that backed my suspicions.
