Yes, but I fell off twice, 48 hours once and 7 days the next, completely off the entire primal ladder. I've had some snacks at night this week too. But every day is a new one. And every day I do a little better. I have to wonder sometimes where my resolve and drive went? But health is a process.
This is something really odd I've just noticed but today, I've felt sort of emotional and a bit down and its not my TOTM. Could ovulation have something to do with it? I'm figuring that for me, its right around the time for an egg to drop. That's the only thing I can think of.

I fight that everyday. Bordeom is what used to drive me to snack. Never been much of an emotional eater. The only things I've done is had a bite of ice cream last Saturday and had a shot of alcohol the same night and both made me feel sick. I guess I'm more of an "experimenter" and if something doesn't seem to like me back, I immediately stop. Half the time now, I feel kind of out of sync with my family as they like to snack especially at night and here I am not doing that and I miss it. I really think I may need to get my kids doing this with me.

Kids! That's the next big question - what, if any, adjustments need to be made for body size? Amount of protein, presumably, but anything else?
Since I'm making sausage for me in the mornings, I started feeding it to the munchkins, too. I already have the "1/6 of your body weight in protein for each meal" rule for them (that's like one egg for those under 40lbs, etc.) that made huge differences in our family behavior and cravings. Now I'm thinking of doubling it for breakfast. Easy, since they are already eating eggs and LOVE sausage. But anything else I should know, doc? I have one child who has been underweight since birth and another who has been way huge since birth (the 4yo is heavier than the 7yo), and always think there's something similar out of balance with both of them. The other three are in more normal weight ranges.

Beating bingeing since 10/31/11 on my Leptin Reset journey
Today I ate breakfast without a speck of protein powder or coffee. I went for 7 hours before eating lunch. I even went shopping, and even in a food store. I don't go in a regular store that often, and kept thinking, "now, what can I eat?"
There was a lady in front of me using EBT, and she had her cart filled up with those weird 99-cent-store hotdogs, salsa, chips, sodas, tuna, a few veggies. It just sorta made me sick thinking about eating all of that. Too bad EBT doesn't work at most farmer's markets.
I went to another store, and they had meats on sale, and though I salivated over the price, I was driving home thinking, "hey, it's been 6 hours and I'm not hungry!" That lady would have done much better getting a tub of sale ground beef or real pork than those hot dogs.
My plan for the day is to eat a late, light dinner if I need one.
I read somewhere that DrK doesn't recommend skipping breakfast for anyone, so I'm sticking with that, even after 8 weeks.
DFH - I've often thought my adrenals are involved. I don't like melatonin because it doesn't seem to work for me, and made me feel groggy the next day. I haven't taken it in a few years, but I think I was taking up to about 12 mg. ?
macradav - I have had vitamin D issues and was taking 50,000 IU's and then 100,000 IU's a week...and having blood work done to see what I needed by my CW primary care Dr. I am currrently not taking any vitamin D because I tested within the "normal" range and am outside for at least 20 minutes daily. I am not taking a multi, so probably not getting much selenium.
I have not had hormone levels checked in over a year. My GYN, who is CW is prescribing based on how I'm feeling and what my compounding pharmacist believes. In the past I've had hormone levels checked both with blood work and saliva tests depending on the beliefs of the MD's ordering the tests. I was not particularly impressed with one of the MD's and the other was a Psychiatrist who is no longer prescibing bioidenticals unless you are a patient.
So, I really don't know where to begin now and would like to see an MD who knows more about this than I do!
In the meantime can anyone suggest books for me to read? I have bounced all over the place from Orthomolecular medicine in my 20's taking so many supplements that I eventually rebelled and stopped taking any supplements; to Macrobiotics in my 30's; to eating crap on and off in my 40's and 50's, with some VLC (as in calorie) diets thrown in; as well as a couple of months eating better on Ann Louise Gittleman's Fat Flush Program; and then Dr. Alejandro Jungers CLEAN program last summer. My metabolism and adrenals are probably shot.
I am sick of running from program to program in an effort to lose weight and feel better. Thus, I am here.

12 mg is a lot for melatonin. Most people do 3mg, but I'm doing 6 right now. If you have adrenal and sleep issues, I would not give up so easy. Try some different brands and different mixes. Some have 5-HTP, GABA, L-theanine, camomile, and other things mixed in.
