    For me, it would more likely be the pumpkin - I react to winter squashes in many of the same ways as sugar. OTOH, I don't know if 20 points is a "spike," but it certainly is staying up there a long time.

    I'm sure others will be more useful! What else is in the custard?

    I wouldn't worry about the 20 point spike as much as I would the fact that it's elevated for a long time. That happens to me on whey protein. My BG levels would remain elevated for 24 hours after having whey. I'd eliminate something and test again, doing that until you figure out the culprit. Was the HWC sweetened? I'm with Mama, I'd think pumpkin first.

    Yeah, my vbac was easy peasy, much much better than my C, but I had no tearing or anything. It hurt me just reading your post, lol.

    Thanks MamaGrok & Kristi. Here's the Pumpkin Custard recipe:

    1 can organic pumpkin
    1 can coconut milk
    5 eggs
    2 tsp pumpkin spice
    4 T sweatleaf stevia
    bake 350 in water bath for one hour

    I will try again tomorrow without the pumpkin. I have been doing no carb, but lately it has been a little more challenging. Doing the salivary testing today for hormones & had to stop taking my hormones for the day...I'm sure that was part of my problem.

    That sounds yummy. I love pumpkin. I hope you can figure out what the trigger was. Sometimes it's just an off day too. I had one of those a week or so ago. A typical meal, a spike in blood sugar, no reason at all really. It hasn't happened since. I wonder if it wasn't stress or something like that.
