Use the pushup bars to do your handstands until your wrists strengthen sufficiently.
I've just reached the Handstands on the progression to handstand push ups and one of the reasons I can't hold on for more than 15 seconds is that my wrists hurt. I normally do regular push ups with push up bars but haven't been able to figure out a way to do handstands without my wrists hurting...any suggestions?

As Velocity says push up bars or parallettes will work well. Wrist flexibility will develop over time so stick at it.
