    NorthernMonkeyGirl +1

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
I tried to think of a clever journal title - NorthernMiniMonkey?? - but it didn't quite fit.

So I had a little surprise on Monday morning with a positive pregnancy test. Not planned, but not a disaster. Annoying timing, but oh well!
Very early days, I feel somewhat safe writing about it here and hopefully I'm anonymous *enough*.

I can't be far along, as I only got back together with the dad about 6 weeks ago. So much for the Pill! Guess even my crappy 50% PB adherence improved my pcos to that extent :O

    So.... aims/purpose of journal?
    - vent all the gobbledegook that will build up in my head
    - ask questions about PB / paleo vs CW. Such as, is all that liver in the freezer reeeeeally going to damage us? Are my high dose vitamins now at too high a dose?
    - record things that may hopefully help someone out there in cyberspace

    Overall aims
    - not to freak out about every little thing
    - to stick to basic PB/paleo principles - eat animals and vegetables
    - if compromise is needed, go with it. E.g. bake own Faileo cookies instead of buying "normal" ones
    - to get my 8 pillowcases of stored sheep fleece made into something useful before February!!

    Things I am doing now
    - bog standard folic acid supplement
    - continuing with vitamin D supplement
    - NOT taking high dose vits or saw palmetto supps
    - going back to basics on diet

On that note, time for dinner. Hunk of cold cooked lamb shoulder.

    Question for the day:
CW says "avoid undercooked meat". I like my meat so rare it's still grazing....
    Is this advice given because
    a) the risk of food poisoning is the same, but the consequences are much more severe
    b) the actual chances of contracting something are increased (immunosuppression??)?

    Congratulations! (I think.)
I believe it's that the consequences are more severe. If you trust your source and your fridge/ freezer(if I recall correctly, you mostly eat the meat you raise, so that's not an issue,) eat your singed carcass with impunity.

Just a word on the pill and PCOS, women with PCOS who take the pill tend to get pregnant on the pill. I have PCOS and got preggers with all 3 of mine on the pill. The pill actually makes our cycles "normal". If I would have known this 13 years ago(didn't know I had PCOS until 4 years ago) I would have never taken the gd pill.

I guess congrats are in order.

    Wow. When did that happen?

Damnit! You mean all this time you were getting laid!
Augh I thought we had a bond that only celibate, lonely, manless chicks have
And I was giving you my best dating advice too... (hey, maybe it worked!)

    Oh well,
    Congrats! <3
    (if you're happy about this...)

I take it you are happy...
But you seem... so young! And... Wow.
    *imagines how I'd react*
    *too scary to imagine*

Did you tell the dude? What did he say?
Do you like kids? (maybe I should have started with this one...)

It's your first child... do you realize your life is now and forever changed! You will be someone's mom, their most important person in the world!
    WOW!

    *breathes into a bag*

Why do I seem more freaked about this than you?

Oh yes, I'm melodramatic. I almost forgot.

    <3<3<3 lots of love
