    I think I actually eat less bacon since going primal. I still use it when cooking collards and sometimes other greens, but it's not a terribly frequent thing - perhaps because I'm getting enough fat elsewhere.

    I think I'm in the same boat right now as CoyoteVick was; I was eating so little fat before (maaaybe a tablespoon of olive oil a day, cumulatively) that right now my brain and body are going nuts over bacon (and lamb, and steak, and hamburgers, and...).

    Actually, if I remember correctly wild pig was the major game animal in the area where this term originated. As such, meat was said to 'taste like pig' much like everything these days 'tastes like chicken'. I've always wondered if someone grew up eating nothing but rattle snake if the first time someone said, "Hey, was that chicken good?" they responded, "Yeah, tastes like snake."

    I don't eat it like some folks here do, but I love bacon and have about 6 slices a week.

    I eat bacon. It's delicious, and it's a convenient meat to keep fresh at work, where I can microwave it. I don't think it's as healthy as a steak, but I also don't think berries are as healthy as leafy greens, and I still eat those.

    I do seem to have an off-switch for bacon, though--I think especially the fatty cuts seem like too much sometimes. So then I just don't eat it for a while!

    <3 beef bacon even more than pork bacon.
