40 by 40 - a primal experiment page

1. Eat lots of animals, insects and plants.
Dinner last night: hamburger patty and salad, Breakfast today: 3 eggs, bacon, blueberries (little cream cheese). Lunch: BAS

2. Move around a lot at a slow pace.
Yesterday went on a 2 hour walk with 2 of my kiddos and stroller, with another twin mom.

3. Lift heavy things.

4. Run really fast every once in a while.
not so much

5. Get lots of sleep.
Not so much with the kids' teething. I can't wait for my nap today, though!

6. Play.
toddler+hose+80 degrees+me=YES!

7. Get some sunlight every day.
YES!

8. Avoid trauma.
ok

9. Avoid poisonous things.
Is this where drinking comes in? No alcohol at all this week for me, which is kinda unheard of. Today is day 6 of no sugar.

10. Use your mind.
I'm learning the lyrics to some new songs to sing to my kids at bedtime.

Last night I saw my son jumping up and down on the scale before his bath: "I'm on a trampoline!!" So, if the next weigh-in is a stall for me, I'm blaming that.

Today when I was zoning out in our sunny backyard, I realized that I'd been posting new threads each time I wrote on here the past few weeks. I was like, "why are my pages not adding up?" OOOOHHHHHHHhhhhh. So, I'm going to just use this thread as the place I continue to post from, if I've figured things out. Several folks who have replied to my earlier posts, thanks for your input, and here I am now!

Some dark (70%) chocolate today and some breading on a bit of chicken, otherwise clean eating.

My mom arrives today for a 3 week visit to help out with the kids, and my husband and I are REALLY excited for the help, plus we might get to go out to dinner by ourselves! (Wow! a meal that isn't wolfed down as fast as possible?!) On the flip side, my mom is in love with sweets, and is really good at cooking/baking them. So, I've told her I won't be partaking, and now I've got to tell that every day (every meal, really) to MYSELF. Luckily my mom understands the logic of limiting carbs, and can clearly see I have baby weight to lose. Posting here is a good way to keep me honest!

Sugar and gluten free day yesterday. That feels good! I had some dried cherries last night and they were so delicious I am going to have to watch those. "cherries: stay in that pantry!" Breakfast this morning: broccoli, cauli, turkey, egg and cheese scramble. Off to the store this morning to buy BACON! COFFEE! and other trivial things.

Down a total of 7 pounds now, and the sugar cravings and carb flu are slowing down, I think. The local free-range and grass/bug fed eggs I'm buying these days are so delicious it's hard to not eat 6 in a day!

Yesterday was falling off the wagon into a bowl of addictive sugar. And I felt like absolute shit overnight, so yes, I can see the health difference laying off the stuff makes. Yowza. I could blame my 8 month old's double ear infection and resultant lack of sleep for me making bad choices, but really, it was me being lazy and thinking I "deserved a treat." Today that treat will be blueberries.
