If you don't have a science background I would recommend Why We Get Fat. I've read both, and even WWGF will challenge those with no science background. GCBC could be downright lethal.

just what I wanted to know. Thank you!
I also thought that "Why We Get Fat" is a more solution-based book while GCBC is more a detailed explanation of what is going on. I wouldn't recommend GCBC to too many people but I'd recommend WWGF to anyone interested in nutrition.
As a warmup, read this-

I found "Why We Get Fat" a good read, not too hard, with a pile of great info. I think its the place to start, and if you want more detail then go to GCBC.
