Fruit has fructose which is the worst of all carbs. Fruit has a lot of vitamin c but our body does not really require it. It's easy to get anyway.
Most nuts have a sick amount of omega 6. They also have more phytic acid than grains and legumes.
Legumes have a lot of nutrition like nuts. They may have a lot of carbs but they also have a lot of fiber.
If you don't pass gas after eating then why not eat them over potatoes, fruit and most nuts? They seem to be healthier to me.
What do you guys think?
I've always thought similarly. I think fruit is incredibly overrated. It's the worst natural sugar paired with virtually no nutritional value. Beans contain lots of fiber, a good amount of protein and are nutritionally superior to fruits. Sure, they contain toxins, but every plant does in some quantity. Plus, you can soak and/or ferment some of the toxins out. You can't do that with fruit. It always has fructose, which has been shown to be more metabolically harmful than alcohol.
Are black beans really worse for you than an apple? On paper, they look better, but they will make your gut grumble, unlike an apple. But hey, so do avocados a little and they are loved around here. Hell, if you really want your gut to grumble, eat flax. I'm on a carb refeed right now and I've eaten 5 skinless sweet potatoes today. My intestines are singing. They're singing, "Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle!" Tomorrow should be a fun day. I'm glad no one sits behind me.

Well, remember to ask: what would Grok do? Grok seemed to get along just fine on fruit, but he probably wouldn't go out of his way to soak/ferment/cook beans and other legumes. And if we're going by what Sisson said, in the PB he both outlawed legumes and put fruits right next to vegetables in the base of the primal food pyramid.
When I lost 50lbs on PB about a year ago, I ate fruit on a daily basis and never ate legumes.
I'm not excluding all fruits. But a lot. Avocado is a fruit but is one of the healthiest plant foods around.
Always going to find reasons against and for. So make a call based on how you handle legumes. Prepare them properly and go for it. Ferris likes them a lot.
Fruit isn't too bad not much fructose in a couple of pieces.

You can eat whatever you want. Eat beans if you like, but why are you wanting/needing others to agree with you?
