Son wants to give vegitarainism a try

He comes up to me last night and says "Dad, I want to try eating like a vegetarian." I said why and he said "meat grosses me out sometimes." I asked him "have you read anything about vegan?" He said "no" then I said "why don't your read the Vegetarian Myth before you make your decision." and he went off to his room...you know 17yo...they're always in their rooms....

He comes back out about an hour later and says "This is amazing. I want this book. Plus I think I could totally write my extended essay on the destruction of the earth from agriculture!" We ordered it from Amazon while he was looking over my shoulder and told him it would be here Wednesday...his reply "COOL!"

I could have gotten all fatherly on him and the outcome would not have turned out as well.

    That is totally awesome.

You probably could have told him exactly what the book said, but since it was coming out of YOUR FACE, not only would he not have heard
a word, but since it was Daddy talking, you know, it couldn't POSSIBLY be true, right? Cuz parents know NOTHING.

Good for you for pointing him to it and have him read/digest it all himself.

Does he not digest meat well?

It's possible that low stomach acid affects the way he feels after eating it-my sis has hypochloridia and red meat literally makes her sick.

Some BetaineHCL may help things in that department...just a thought.
