many people feel that meditation is some long drawnout ideal with a GOAL....

step number 1 - sit still
step number 2 - breath regular
step number 3 - focus on the breath as it enters you nose...... feel it, notice it, stay with it
step number 4 - stop when you are done... 1 second 10 years. whatevers clever

the whole point is to just be... so just be.. if you are thinking about anything you are ego driven... when you think about nothing you are ego-less ( as much as you can be and still be alive and human)
as you can imagine my ego chatters all the time.. it even loves to tell me to breath and focus... damned ignorant bastid. since he wont STFU i just smile and pat him on the head
we dont really get along, he seems to be intent on finding ways to make me notice him... sigh i cant kill him and cant divorce him.
the only thing you can control is your attention..... fortunately it is the only thing you need to control.
