I wouldn't worry about it one bit.
Is this another myth? I'm pretty active so I include plenty of sweet-potatos in my diet, but only a small amount before an activity, a moderate amound afterwords then a largish amount at night...it feels right to me as too many carbs during the day makes me sleepy.
If i'm doing something non-streneous, a protien/fat meal keeps me up and energetic. If I consumed a high carb meal mid-day and did something non-streneous I get foggy and kinda tired.
At night though this is fine as I want to get sleepy obviously, but the fact that carbs are for fuel and nothing else makes me think that any unused fuel will be stored as fat. I know some of it will refil my muscle glycogen, but I've already filled those with my post-workout carbs, no?
Anyone got an answer here? It's been buggin the crap outta me. I bowl of sweet-potatos a few hours before bed just feels so right, and if i'm still in a calorie deficit it's all good right?
I wouldn't worry about it one bit.
You lousy kids! Get off my savannah!
