That makes sense. You could use decaf mate or green tea, but I just embrace the hunger- listening to the signal without emotion. It usually passes pretty quickly.

Oh, and I stay well-hydrated during my fasts. That makes a huge difference!
I drink green tea all day at work, but I really don't have hunger issues on the weeks when I'm not drinking tea either.
