I don't really eat legumes very often. Maybe once or twice a month, tops. I've never made black bean brownies, but I've added some to my cornbread before and it was really good.

I don't really limit cocoa all that much. Yes, it's high in phytic acid, but I'm using it a teaspoon at a time. Compare that to wheat , which may be lower in phytic acid, but you're eating 1-2 cups of it at a time in the form of a 12" sub roll or a half pound of pasta. I'm not going to sit down and eat 100g of cocoa on a regular basis...though I would love to!

A little food porn from this weekend's refeed so far:

Banana cream pie (ok, I replaced the cream with meringue due to fat content)

Pie with coffee frozen yogurt and chocolate syrup:

Oven fries with clams and red sauce and hot roasted cherry peppers:

It was a good refeed. I did more pumpkin banana bread, too. That is turning into one of my favorite things in the world.

I IF'd all day and only ate one meal. Amazingly enough, I was stronger for my workout today on no food. Funny how that happens. I really hate eating small meals and love having humongous hedonist-style meals. This was tonight's dinner:

That's a one pound shoulder steak cooked rare, a stir fry and protein-style strawberry cheesecake. The stir fry was AWESOME. It's 1 yellow squash, 1 sweet potato, 150g of mushrooms, 100g of kale, 1 banana, 1 large fuji apple, 1 unseeded jalapeno and 1 green and 1 orange unseeded habanero with fresh garlic and ginger sauteed in a dry pan. It filled up my whole 15" cast iron skillet. MAN it was good.

As for the protein style strawberry cheesecake, I can't believe how good this came out. The whole cheesecake has 852 calories, 14.6g of fat, 70g of carbs (with around 10-15% removed due to lactic acid) and 109g of protein. That's a cheesecake you can eat in an entire sitting and still have plenty of room leftover for a big dinner! Yes, that entire meal is only around 2,000 calories - a deficit day for most grown men.

If I told you what was in this cheesecake after you ate it, it would blow your mind. This is going to need a writeup on its own next weekend. It didn't crack one lick either!

Cast iron isn't exactly non-stick, but it's stick resistant enough. I just pour a cup of water in it while still hot, let it sit for 30 minutes, give it a once-over lightly with a scouring pad, wipe it clean with a paper towel, heat it over the burner for 30 seconds, add 1 tsp of olive oil and smear with my hand to coat. Technically, there was a teaspoon of olive oil spread over the entire surface of the pan, but it's not enough to add a frying effect. The pan is as dry as cast iron gets.
