Yup, as I understand it, it is just ground up almonds.
..but it's just ground up almonds yes? So technically i could make it myself?
I can find it in ONE deli (in my small town, I could drive into Vancouver city but i'd rather not) here but it's insanely pricey...cheaper to buy bulk almonds and grind it myself, if that's all it is?

The challenge with making it yourself, as I understand it, is finding that happy place so that you grind it into flour without grinding it into almond butter. Although I suppose ending up with almond butter wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.![]()

Some people swear by freezing the almonds first, as they're less likely to turn into butter. Check online shops as they tend to be cheaper than buying from stores.

If making it yourself, start with blanched and peeled almonds. If you grind up the almonds with their thin brown peel included, your goods will have a different color and a slightly different texture (still taste good tho!)
