I tried a raw clam once. First try and it was too big, so I ended up spitting it out. I'd eat them raw now though. Oyesters too. You can steam oysters just like clams, right?
Today was pretty good. I ended up scarffing some lamb before I ran out the door. Maybe I'll IF breakfast tomorow.
Lunch was 3 fried eggs with hot sauce. The hot sauce seemed really spicy for some reason. One of my eggs was a little funky. It looked like it was just starting to grow, but I ate it anyways. Didn't taste bad. It just didn't have a runny yolk like the other two.
So for dinner I was going to make cabbage rolls, but I still had a nice-size chunk of lamb to finish, so I cooked up a huge pile of carrots and cauliflower, and heated up the lamb. Very tasty, and I'm stuffed. Will be attempting the cabbage rolls tomorrow I think.
When I got home from work I did a couple more sets of push-ups (girly style this time), assisted pull-ups, and dips. I just didn't have the power for regular push-ups for some reason. I'll probably do one more set of 10 each before bed. Tomorrow is 3 circuits in the morning and sprints after work.
I'm feeling much more trim than I have in a really long time. I haven't weighed myself but I'm SO tempted. I must resist! Measurement around the belly is the same. I really think when it comes to surgery, if I can't afford all three procedures, I'll settle for removing the extra skin off my belly. I want it gone so bad! It sucks to think there's nothing I can do, no workout that will make it go away.February can't get here soon enough, and the money won't come in fast enough either. Ugh. *frustrated*
I will say that I'm feeling great without all the "extras." I think at the end of the month I'll bring butter (or better yet, ghee) back into the house, as well as decaff coffee and kombucha. I'll be able to eat the nuts I have in the house and will only buy them with the shell on. It slows me down- lol. Fruit, cheese, chocolate, sweets... that stuff will remain a treat. They won't be staples in my house anymore. I feel really good without them- especially the dairy. That means my protein shakes will be no more. I'll miss them. But I feel better without them too. I'll finish up what I have in the cupboard and that's it. Or maybe... freeze it, then in the rare occasions I want a "milk shake" for dessert, I can use that. I like that idea better.
I've also got a very large turnip to cook with. Probably with more ground beef. Any suggestions?

The first thing I'm going to do on May 1 is go to starbucks and get a breve! lol.
I am tempted to weigh also but one of my goals is to stay away till May 1. We can resist!
I had some small turnips a couple weeks ago and cut them into cube/wedge type things and roasted them in the oven... they were like heaven. So I vote "chunked" and roasted in EVOO + sea salt. mmm.
That is awesome that you're feeling so great without the "extras" ... also? That weird egg would've freaked me out. Although I'm already kind of having egg issues so it wouldn't take much.
Eating lots but still hungry? Eat more fat. Mid-day sluggishness? Eat more fat. Feeling depressed or irritable? Eat more fat. People think you've developed an eating disorder? Eat more fat... in front of them.
I'm tempted to treat myself on May 1st... being Beltaine and all... maybe some fruit, but I don't want to jump right back in to my old habits. I'll find a nice, light dessert that I can make to celebrate the holiday.
I was thinking of chunking and roasting the turnip. I made turnip mash a while back, but I'm not in the mood for a mashed texture- lol. Maybe use the burger and make either meatloaf, or just hamburgers. It's been a long time since I've had either.
The egg thing was weird, but it wasn't "too grown" and knowing me, I would have eaten it no matter what. Sometimes I question my sanity because of some of the things I'm willing to consume. I think I'm reaching Andrew Zimmern levels of crazy now.

burgers are sounding REALLY good to me lately ... I put some ground beef in the fridge to thaw for burgers later this week. mmm. would love a big juicy one with cheddar (sorry!) and a thick slice of tomato.

You're so descriptive in your posts, Danish.
Have you ever had coconut milk-banana-yolk milkshake?
it's so good! As the name implies you just mix all of them together and it's so darn good and you don't feel the egg! (btw it should be raw!)
Raw egg yolks are so good for you! And you totally deserve some sweet sweet loving on Beltaine! (food wise :P)
This is what I like to do, grill up some bacon, shred the turnip, remove bacon then caramelize some onions in the bacon fat, then add the grated turnip then bacon.
I have never wanted turnips so bad in my life. You people are freaking me out!
I might have to try that coconut milk shake at some point. Sounds yummy and something resembling ice cream might be nice once in a while.
I know what you mean about not going back to the habits, though. It's so easy to say, oh april's over, now back to it! But I think you'll be fine.. by the time May hits you'll probably be feeling awesome and not even want them anymore.
You know maybe the feeling lighter thing is the lack of dairy. I know that on occasionsl I'm not eating dairy and/or some other stuff, I just "feel" thinner. I don't know that I really am, but it's like a lack of bloating and/or inflammation in my body... just makes me feel better. Hmmm... gotta think about that one...
