    Salad dressing help ...

    Primal Fuel
I'm trying to eat tons of veggies but I LOVE full fat creamy salad dressings ... not a huge fan of EVOO based dressings ... I need the thick creamy kind.
However, all my full fat dressings either have 1. soybean oil 2. yogurt or 3. sour cream as the base ... I'm hearing to lose weight I need to stay away from soybean oil & dairy ... yikes! HELP!

make your own homemade chipotle mayo. It makes a great dressing! If you do your own homemade mayo, you can mix it with citrus and get a really nice, refreshing dressing

Not sure about the non-dairy creamy dressing (mayo sounds like a good idea). My favorite dressing right now is buttermilk with bacon fat, onions, a dash of mustard, salt, pepper, and a touch of honey. Not sure how primal that is but anything that can get me to eat salad/veggies is probably a good thing for now! Your basic balsamic olive oil vinagrette is pretty good if you get top quality ingredients. I also like salad topped with tuna or chicken salad (just mixed up with mayo).

    Ok here it is:

Place 8 Tbsp of macadamia nut oil (or other neutral oil) into a glass measuring cup with a pouring spout. Microwave (or heat on the stove) until warm to the touch but not hot.

Put into your blender (or a bowl if you have to use a hand/stick blender):
    2 room temp egg yolks
    1/2 tsp dijon mustard
    3-4 cloves of garlic minced
1 Tbsp anchovie paste (or two anchovies roughly mashed up)

    Whip until blended and light.

While still blending, drizzle in a thin thread like drizzle (be careful during this step, pouring too quickly will result in your emusion not thickening.) SLOW and steady!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once it's thickened up, while still blending add a squeeze half a lemon's worth of juice in, and add 1/2 tsp of white wine vinegar. Grind in some pepper and stop blending. Taste. Does it need more lemon? More anchovie? Add as needed. Obviously you can add parmesan cheese if you don't think it will stall you, but if you do then stay away. Doesn't quite taste right? Add a few drops of worchestershire sauce.
The more I see the less I know for sure.

I also make my own green goddess dressing, which is pretty much homemade mayo (egg and oil) garlic, fresh chives, flat leaf parsley, and fresh tarragon, lemon, white wine vinegar, and anchovie paste. I guess it's basically caesar with fresh herbs! lol Try it!

You can make your own ranch dressing too. Or creamy italian. Just start with a base of homemade mayo and play.

I discovered a delicious, creamy salad dressing. I dumped guacamole on my salad and then poured balsamic and olive oil over it and mixed the whole thing up. It was so good I had two salads today

I throw whatever into a blender and blend. Sometimes mayo based, sometimes avocado based. I'm pretty sure I got most of my dressing recipes from lil-earthmomma so pay attention to her.
