Maybe you should ask your vitamin d about her past sexual history.
Everytime I do a mini megadose of it (only around 20,000 IU) I get a stupid ass cold sore. Three consecutive times already.
Also, during the megadoses, I was also bit sick (which is why I took the vit D), but not enough to trigger a cold sore. Like this time it was just mild allergies.
It can't be just coincidence.
Anyone else have this problem?

Stabbing conventional wisdom in its face.
Anyone who wants to talk nutrition should PM me!
I get cold sores when if I feel a cold comming on but then I fight it off, or after getting sick.
Lysine (not sure on spelling) is an amino acid you can take as a pill that's said to help prevent cold sores, but actually lysine is found in many foods. Opposite of lysine is arginine, which causes cold sores They key is balancing your lycine ratio with your "arginine" ratio. Every food has a ratio of lysine to arginine. Basicly lysine blocks cold sores, arginine lets em happen. Try and chose foods with a higher lycine ratio.
You can google some lists, but I know that grains, nuts, chocolate and coffee all have high(er) levels of arginine, while dairy products have high levels of lycine, riccotta cheese being the highest.
Being very basic here and all this is from a fuzzy memory, google lysine
I take lysine already
Should not have gotten one this time

Drop your dose. You've reacted badly to it.
Any large amount of anything can trigger a cold sore if you are susceptible.Your body has already let you know that it's not comfortable with such a high dose.
Why are you taking these megadoses? Why not just a routine amount each day?
Evolutionary. Ideology that fits biology

Cold Sore Treatment
You didn't say which Vitamin D tablet you are taking. It must be Vitamin D3 and oil based.
I take 10,000 IU D3 daily with no problems and my D3 blood level is perfect at 70 nm/ml
Grizz
Holy crapola, that's a lot of D.
I have the beginning stages of osteoporosis in my right hip (I'm 42) and even my doctor only has me on 2,000iu's a day.
I know you don't take 20grand a day, but still, even just once, wow!
But anyway, I concur with Grizz, must be the oil based d-3.
