chao- i'm sure there are others out there who have experienced abuse at the hands of women. i personally know more people who have been emotionally or physically abused by their moms than by their dads (but i personally know few people who have been abused, so i'm not attempting to make a societal statement here).

You personally know people who are willing to admit the abuse. If you know any cops on a personal level they will tell you that women are the primary abusers of children.

Stop being afraid of taking a stance on the issue, don't be passive aggressive ffs!

i personally know people who admit to be on the receiving end of abuse, and i have no reason to doubt them. wrt women being the primary abuser, i don't necessarily doubt it.

Minimizing of folks' experiences with domestic violence is despicable, whether it's male on female, female on male, insect on horse or whatever. Personally, I grew up in a family filled with hyperviolent, BPD women and spineless men. It's a very lonely feeling knowing I can never talk with anyone about this without being laughed at or called a pussy.

Absolutely... domestic violence is not a joke no matter who is doling it out.
I've had some friends who had really messed up homes due to the woman as well, both physically as well as emotionally/mentally. I would NEVER laugh at or ridicule someone who has gone through the hell that DV brings into a home.

In my world it was just never spoken of because it was always considered something you should take silently, it would be easier that way. Plus I always wondered if I'd end up having an "accident" like my mom.
Then after I had some relationships with men who treated me the same as my father did. More abuse. I own my part in that. They couldn't have hit me if I didn't stay, but being raised with the message that "love" comes with violence does REALLY unhealthy stuff to the inside of your head. I got past it.
So, nope... NOT a victim!
