    So....how ya'll been doing?!

Thought I would drop by and say hello.

Currently battling some hormonal issues related to pituitary-adrenal-thyroid axis. Sounds swanky right? I should really have got this all checked out before starting Primal, rather than getting 8 months down the line without losing squat and THEN questioning that something might be wrong. D'ur

First thing that sprang it to me was being freezing all the time. my Basal temp rarely gets above 36c most mornings but also (interestingly) yo-yo's throughout the day which indicates some kind of adrenal issues in addition to thyroid problems. Then the fatigue, the crawling into bed and the 4 months skiing without any inch loss.

Finally, there is also a testesterone issue. I'm sure i've known about this since 2008 but it was kinda dismissed, although I came across Primal when searching for ways to reduce my muscle mass and it may be addressing the excess testoterone that may just do this. Plus it may get rid of those troublesome hairs where they shouldn't be, my irritability and agressiveness. I'm just crossing my fingers for no PCOS issues. But the doc has tested for those.

The doc thinks they are all being affected by my pituitary, as my TSH and FT4 are both low (waiting on the freet3 back and a few others) but i also have a family history of hypo.

So - long and short of it; still pursuing Primal 80% of the time -

Brekkies are berries, yog and flaked almonds
Lunches are soups (homemade), chook, need to tighten up on this as tatties and rice are creeping in. (M&S do a lovely fusion sushi)
Dins are still fairly starch free, omlettes, chicken, mince based stuff etc...

So hopefully with some final diagnoses, a few hormones and looking into CLA as well as my VitD, Probiotics, Omega 3 I should be able to actually make some progress with the thing!

I just heard you were all missing me so thought I should pop my head in with an update. Just found it was a little hard to hear everyone's success stories when I was having such little success.

nah...that's not much. people with cancer...that's much. I'm a big girl I can cope with a few hormones outta whack with the right help! I'm a problem solver! i'll always be looking for the solution to something, then move on to the next problem once it's dealt with.

will keep you updated, thanks for your comments!

    Hello NMG!!

I went to one, then changed to another as felt he wasn't really taking me seriously. the second one was worse. Cow.

Found the next one by changing practice. It's hard though as you never know who is any good! try thyroid patient advocacy, the lady there has a list of GP's that have been known to be helpful - including prescribing dessicated thyroid which many GP's refuse point blank to prescribe.

    :-)

Welcome back Scottish Sarah - sorry to hear you're having bodily nonsense, but good to hear from you.

Lovely weather we're having. Better than England, don't you know?
