    A message to Mark

    Mark,
We need your help!! This forum is a great place to get information but it has gotten out of control. Everyone seems t be an expert on Primal/Paleo/Primeo. If there are a 100 posts, there are 100 different opinions. Some people are getting to the point of being aggresive and demeaning. This community is losing the supportiviness that it had no too long ago. Many new people come here asking for advice and what they get is only even more confusion. We need your help to bring this forum back to a helpful and supportive community. Thanks Mark!
    All the best,
    Dennis

No, it's not. It's as supportive as it's ever been. Yes, I agree there are a lot of differing opinions and that can cause confusion. But we are always telling people to READ THE BOOK FIRST. If they don't, then it's their fault if they get bamboozled by all the different personal takes and tweaks or outright ignorance about the PB. Do you think it's a good idea for these boards to be moderated to the degree that, say, 30bananas is, where any dissent is met with outright bannings?

    I agree.
    Ancestral Health Info

I design websites and blogs for a living. If you would like a blog or website designed by someone who understands Primal, see my web page.

Primal Blueprint Explorer My blog for people who are not into the Grok thing. Since starting the blog, I have moved close to being Archevore instead of Primal. But Mark's Daily Apple is still the best source of information about living an ancestral lifestyle.

This is Web 2.0 - user-created content. By definition, this is the way it's going to be. You have to do your own research, too, you know.
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

I second the OP's opinion - this forum has become a terrible way to learn about PB, and it must be awfully confusing to start here. Griff, you are the perfect example - you'll tell anyone who'll listen that 50g carbs/day is too much, no matter what - just to name one typical thing. That's the Griff way, not the PB way as you obviously know. Fruit-free, ZC, very long fasting, pure carnivore - all this peripheral freak-show stuff is what the forum has become about. When was the last thread you saw about BAS recipes?

I agree with you. My gf started reading the PB and every other day she comes up to me and points me to a passage and goes “… SEE IT’S NOT JUST EAT MEAT ALL DAY EVERYDAY… YOU CAN EAT FRUITS IT SAYS SO RIGHT HERE… MARK EATS SALADS DAILY WHY CAN’T I…”

Which reminds me, I should really read that book.

Nah, it is more fun to start a 40+ page argument about why Mark is wrong and you don't need to buy the book.

This forum is a great way for me to get other people's perspectives, learn from their trials and errors, and be motivated by other people's successes.
I personally don't mind getting 100 different answers to my questions. That's more to learn from. I can then figure out for myself what works for me by doing my own research from there. But I have also done a ton of research on my own before coming on this forum. I read the book first of all and most of the answers are in there. But at the same time, Mark has never had a weight problem, so someone like Griff would be able to give some insightful advice, based on his personal experience. I don't see Griff giving advice on how to get from 10% to 8% bodyfat. But there are also those people who can.
If you don't like all the different answers, then read PB, Good Calories Bad Calories, and whatever else that is available in books or online. You can't complain about what you're getting if all you want to be is spoonfed everything.

The last thing we need is heavy handed moderation!

It's the same as it's been since I got here - which was early fall.
