    You know, they now have a guard that you can buy in regular stores? They are one-size-fits-all and may be cheaper than when your Dr. has to fit it on you.


    I may be wrong, but try the cheap, over-the-counter gaurd and then go to your doctor if that doesn't work (otherwise you will be charged for a visit, a fitting, lab fees and then another visit for a final fitting....yuck!)

    Sassy, it took me a minute to figure out if you were talking about a mouth guard or a type of birth control. LOL. Oh geez. It's Friday- thank god.

    Okay so today is day 11 of no metformin. I gotta tell ya- I'm not loving the way I feel right now. I have gained 3 pounds since stopping the med. My fingers feel bloated like little sausages. My belly feels bloated. Carb cravings have increased. Despite being super good eating/drinking wise in Vegas, I still had fasting sugars in the high 120's, low 130's. Back down to 108 today. Also, usually at this point in survival week I feel pretty leaned out but I'm not getting that this time. I feel gross and sluggish. I thought my metformin-free experiment would go for 1 month but if weight gain continues at this rate, I will go back on it before the month is out. Ugh.


    My next blood work is November 2. I plan to ask for A1c, c-peptide, GADA, B12, and vit D. Anything else I should be thinking of?


    I'm gonna go for a walk now. Some fresh air and sunshine will make me feel better.

    Aww... sorry to hear it's not going quite as well as you hoped. I do hope it gets better. A walk will make you feel better. I don't know what any of those tests mean, but I hope the results are great.

    Thanks :-) And as you know from my facebook post, I added 3 sets of "stairs" to my walk, along with a little running, 3 sets of 10 reps for jumping jacks and push-ups, and 5 burpees :-) I do feel better. I think tomorrow will be a carnivore day to get the sugars down where they should be.
