Grok Knows How To Say "NO"... Do YOU?

    Primal Fuel
    Hey Guys and Girls...

Mark has talked about the importance of dealing with stress effectively and living a deeply relaxed lifestyle... so I wanted to share some amazing research and recommendation for you to check out a book called 'When The Body Says No' by Gabor Mate.

Diet may be very important but emotional health is just as, if not MORE, important.

Gabor demonstrates with the physical expression that stress (in all sorts of ways) leaves on the body when we deal with it ineffectively. Stress from unresolved issues from the past, the inability to express your emotions, having weak personal boundaries, having trouble saying 'no', etc... all culminates into effecting the proper functioning of our body.

    Check this video out:

The book is truly an amazing read. He also has some mind-blowing work he has done on Addiction, ADD, and raising children. A real compassionate and wise soul.

Hope you get something out of this for yourself,

    Oz

Very interesting video. I'm a very low-stress person, so I'm feeling pretty damn good about myself right now.

At the same time, I tend not to express a lot of anger in my everyday life like he was talking about early on. Although, I believe this is due to me getting all of my frustration out at the gym. I tend to rage when I'm lifting weights.

Great video, it resonates with me. I was quite ill a couple of years ago, and I know stress was a major contributor.

Thank you very much Ozbuckley for posting this. I thought it was interesting that he pointed out that it is not just the "Type A" driven sort of people who have high stress levels but also the ones who try too hard to be nice all the time and let themselves be walked over like a doormat.

Cool guys Im glad you found it insightful.

I really recommend reading the book... amazing!!!

Its funny with stress isnt it... as Gabor Mate says, stress comes in many forms. Even unresolved limiting beliefs about oneself and the world creates and allows stress to exist. ..and the amazing thing about this is that many of these beliefs are UNCONSCIOUS ...and much of our stress is UNCONSCIOUS as well. ..sometimes we have no idea we are carrying stress, until one day we wake up and find a lump somewhere in our body or a some neurological disease.

Learning to say 'NO'. Asserting ourSELF's. Having definite values. Strong boundaries. And allowing others to have the same. Grok would be proud, Im sure.

I say "no" then have guilt for saying it.
