    Sprained Neck / Spasms

    Shop Now
Earlier this week I was diagnosed with Neck Sprain / Neck Spasms. I climb alot of wind turbines, so Im imagining something may related to doing that may have caused it. ANYWHOO, The pain/tightness varies from my neck, traps and to my upper/outer tricep region. I have been ordered to "take it easy". Long story short, I love working out, the inability to do so is killing me. Does anyone have an idea about generally how long it takes to bounce back and get back to lifting after such an injury?
    Thanks a bunch.

I pulled my neck muscles quite badly during training for pull ups. Took about a month to get back to normal (didn't do hardly any upper body training during that time unfortunately). I still have to go easy on the pull ups at the moment - this was a couple of months ago FWIW.

I have been having neck and shoulder problems for a while too. My (conventional) doc said to be sure my pillows were right for me. (I sleep on my sides and need pillow(s) high enough for my shoulders or the shoulders get smashed.)

After a wreck, I was diagnosed with multiple cervical protrusions (the milder version of a slipped disc.) I was given anti- inflammatories, muscle relaxers, pain killers, exercises and told to go to phys therapy. I only took the anti- inflammatories, I rarely remember to do the exercises, I didn't go to PT, and I'm feeling almost 100%. I'm switching to a buckwheat pillow tonight to see if it helps. I'll keep you posted.

I just feel terrible, since my weight room is my temple, and I feel like I'm losing my religion. /

How long did you feel it took you to be confident to begin resuming regular exercise in the area? I can feel my injury getting slightly loser, but I still do have times when it feels really spasmic.
