    Help me with this recipe please

    Primal Fuel
    I am working on making it primal from the current issue of Clean Eating magazine...

    Tuna Cakes
    wiht Honeydew-strawberry salsa
    16oz Tuna, canned, water pack
    1 Tblsp Dijon Mustard
    4 Tblsp ground almonds (my addition)
    2 Tblsp scallions
    zest 1/2
    1 tsp Smoky paprika
    1/8 tsp sea salt
    2 large eggs
    1/4 cup ground walnuts (my addition)
    1 Tblsp coconut oil (substitued for safflower oil)
    fresh ground pepper to taste
    lemon wedges, optional



    salsa
    1 cup diced honeydew
    1 cup diced strawberries
    1/2 small red onion, chopped
    1 jalapeno seeded and chopped
    2 Tblsp chopped fresh parsley
    1 1/2 Tblsp fresh lemon juice
    pinch sea salt

    There is nothing non primal about it although I would probably cut the amount of salsa in half at least. Seems like a lot of fruit per serving. And I would say you probably want to add some fat in. But I dont know if upping the fat would change the cooking of the tuna cakes. (I assume you cook them like a crab cake?)

    Personally I might ditch the fruit salsa, have a normal salsa and just have strawberries on the side.

    Yes you cook them like crabcakes I could increase the coconut oil

    See...that would be more like 2 servings to me. 3 tops. no 3.2 oz servings of tuna for me.

    I dont know how much more oil you could add and have them absorb it. I might try making a primal mayo to use as a tartar sauce kind of base. Or just serve something with it with fat. Maybe take the honeydew out of the salsa and instead make an avocado strawberry salsa or something. Less sweet and still with a good punch.
