I've been wearing them for a few years now and I'll wear them just about anywhere.

One day, I wore mine and no one said anything.
It was the strangest thing. I've worn out one pair and am currently using my second/third pairs.

I never really noticed getting looks when I wore them to the grocery store, but my wife noticed that my Vibrams were being noticed, haha.

    This...
At first I noticed that people noticed all the time.
Now I don't pay any attention to what people are noticing.
But, if someone asks I'm happy to direct them to the only local place to get a pair fitted.

Also... I think that my recent trip into blue hair may be distracting the glances away from my feet.
It's something one could try if they don't like the "looks" that VFFs sometimes garner.

Haha I only got my first pair yesterday, and they're one of the limited edition Aussie flag versions, so they DO look very different, not just cause of the toes . My kids think they are "weirdly cool", and my DD wants them (I said "NO they are MINE!"). I went to the store in them last night, but don't think anyone noticed (my pants were a bit long and probably covered them too much lol). I'd like to wear them out in summer (winter here!) with some shorter pants to see if they become more noticeable!! I can't say I've ever seen ANYONE wear VFFs in real life (well, except for me now!).

I've become quite attuned to people glancing at my VFF. It's pretty easy to tell; just watch their eyes as they pass, but don't be too obvious about it. (Look out the corner of your eyes.) It's fairly predictable, but amusing at the same time.

I've just celebrated one year in Vibrams. I don't notice the glances anymore- my friends and family do though. The questions are common. In the check out line, browsing produce, at the laundromat, in the ladies room at Applebee's... nowhere is safe, but that's ok. Ya get used to it.

It's cute when you hear kids whisper, "Daddy... daddy! Look at those shoes! Looook!"

Yeah, I've also noticed a fundamental change in the questions I've been asked about VFF. I started wearing them in August '09, so 1.5 years now. Questions used to be, "What are those??" Now they're more, "How do you like those?" or "Are they comfortable?" (The second question annoys me -- why would I wear them if they WEREN'T comfortable?) It represents the fact that VFF are becoming more well-known... and it's funny. A cousin, upon first seeing them, she was appalled. (She's also a runner, and she first saw me in them winter '09.) Now she's interested in buying a pair. Pretty funny. Hell, my mom's the same way. She doesn't run, but she's planning on getting a pair now.

I do get used to it, and in fact I rather welcome it. It's fun to talk about them.

Funny little story, I was waiting to get my hair cut this past Saturday and I had on my pair of Komodo Sports, the black/gold/grey ones. A probably 9-year-old kid was there and saw them, said they were awesome. I won't lie, the Vibram folks did a great job with the design of the Komodo...

Every day I watch women basically stumbling to work in 4" heels, off of the train no less, and you are surprised by this question? It is amazing what people will strap to their feet.
