Are you maybe overthinking this? You've asked several questions about it already. I think it's the spirit of the whole 30, rather than the whole 30 itself. I don't think I"m healthier without butter, but knowing that I can go without it really strengthened my resolve and helped me overcome some food issues. If you want to make chowder, make chowder! That seems fine. Was chowder a binge food for you before? Exactly.
