Healthy Blood Sugar Targets
What is a healthy fasting blood sugar level?
According to the links above (and similar to other resources):
A healthy fasting blood sugar (which is also the blood sugar a normal person will see right before a meal) is:
83 mg/dl (4.6 mmol/L) or less.
Independent of what they eat, the blood sugar of a truly healthy person is:
Under 120 mg/dl (6.6 mmol/L) one or two hours after a meal.
Most healthy people are under 100 mg/dl (5.5 mmol/L) two hours after eating.
"The 140 mg/dl (7.7 mmol/L) blood sugar target is a good start, but many of us find we feel better and get even more normal health if we shoot for truly normal blood sugars and keep our blood sugar under 120 mg/dl (6.7 mmol/L) at all times. If you can do it, go for it."
