Please do not become a tight shirt-wearing douchebag. The only thing worse than a tight shirt-wearing douchebag is a tight shirt-wearing douchebag with his baseball cap on backwards. No, wait. A tight shirt-wearing douchebag with his baseball cap on backwards who listens to Dave Matthews Band is even worse. So don't become that.

    I think the worst is the big-sunglasses, cap-on-backwards, pink-polo-shirt-with-the-collar-popped-up and wearing-sandals douchebag.

I shall not be any of those things. This I vow. Thanks, all, for the great words! I'll let you know how tomorrow goes, though it might have to wait until Saturday, since Friday night I've got a character burning (character creation) session with my good friends and fellow gamers. It's Burning Wheel time, bitches!

Sadly, I don't think we are due for new Patrick pics for a couple of months.

I hope everything works for you on the employment front. That is awesome that they called you within 30 minutes of recieving your resume. That speaks volumes.

I don't believe that Patrick = douchebag even exists.

Great! That's right, we started around the same time. My Primal'versary is Sept. 24th. I'm aiming for minus 75. At least that gives me a goal to shoot for and hopefully keeps me on the strait and narrow. Can't wait for the pics.

Good news! The interview went well and I was offered the job. I've accepted, but haven't signed any paperwork yet. Will be mulling things over and setting my own expectations over the weekend in order to have my thoughts straight when I go in on Monday. I'll basically be a marketing project manager/client relations manager/business development manager. I get to make up my own title. I'll be on a base salary + commission, which is cool. Small team, too. There'll be six total, including me, when they hire on a programmer: the founder, IT-focused project manager, me as marketing/client manager, two designers, and a programmer. The firm's office is a 100-year-old farmhouse in a green-space in the middle of a built up urban area. lol Makes me think of the movie, Batteries Not Included!

I'm really freakin' happy about this, but need to let the emotional high fade and then look at the situation critically and assess how I can negotiate for what I want with room to manoeuvre. This would be a total change in direction for me, and I need to ensure that's really what I want. (Though, man, do I really want it!) It would also be my first management and quasi-sales gig, which is exciting and terrifying.

Anyhoo. That's the good news! Now I'm off to the library, gotta eat, and then off to go play some Burning Wheel.
