Most positive vibe inducing song after a stressful, shitty day EVER:
"The cling and a clang is the metal in my head when I walk. I hear a sort of, this tinging noise - cling clang. The cling clang. So many things happen while walking. The metal in my head clangs and clings as I walk - freaks my balance out. So the natural thought is just clogged up. Totally clogged up. So we need to unplug these dams, and make the the natural flow... It sort of freaks me out. We need to unplug the dams. You cannot stop the natural flow of thought with a cling and a clang..."
An esteemed poster here turned me on to this. Of course this isn't December now but it is a lovely piece for evenings in general. And i'm listening to Ivan Drever's stuff right now.Honest.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"
Randy California, tho deceased, is in the news lately regarding a controversy with Led Zepp.. Hendrix fans, if you don't know him google. First vid is him singing along with some very well-known guitarists at the time sharing the stage. Next one is with his band Spirit from a favorite album that I still listen to from time to time "The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus." P.S. I still like Bob Dylan's rendition (of his own song) but like Jimi's the best or at least in the style thereof. When Jimi does it i can see the 2 riders approaching, and hear the wind begin to howl. Guitar players check out the credits after the video. Below off of Spirit "Twelve Dreams..." lovely harmonies and acoustic guitar.

excellent playing and some loopy improvisation.
2 sides of the same coin....
All the diamonds in this world
That mean anything to me
Are conjured up by wind and sunlight
Sparkling on the sea
I ran aground in a harbour town
Lost the taste for being free
Thank God He sent some gull-chased ship
To carry me to sea
Two thousand years and half a world away
Dying trees still grow greener when you pray
Silver scales flash bright and fade
In reeds along the shore
Like a pearl in sea of liquid jade
His ship comes shining
Like a crystal swan in a sky of suns
His ship comes shining.

Itunes Radio....'Unwind With Jazz"
These move me on multiple levels: The music, the people (esp. the children), the surroundings, and the choreography.
Forget it's an ad for a few minutes and enjoy.

Love the musicianship but( "and" may be a better descriptor) there is a visceral quality that really does it for me. There is the give and take of the batterie, the jubilant violinist, as well as the gestures and body language of the vocalist as the piece unfolds. She seems to unfold like a flower as the piece progresses.
