    Any Personal Trainers here?

So I decided last year that this year would be the year I become a certified personal trainer. I'm going to start with ACE CPT, then work on other certifications as I see necessary. Anyways, since studying primal fitness/lifestyle the last few months, I worry about information conflicting with what I need to learn for my certification.
For those who have been there done that, how much does it really conflict?
I should be receiving my ACE study materials this week- so really I have no idea, total n00b.

And for those who are current personal trainers, do you train in the "traditional" sense, or do you train at a Crossfit or similar type place (or independently on your own)?

Share your wisdom/experience with me please

Hey Nina - I've got lots of info on my blog about becoming a personal trainer. Start with that one.

Prepare to ignore lots of stuff you will learn on your course. I've been coaching since 1997 and there is very little in the conventional health and fitness industry that I agree with. Have you considered looking at alternative courses or industry certification? These can provide you with knowledge and credibility without the need to accept things you don't agree with.

    Thank you both!
Al- great info and I dig your site!
Palfrey- I will look into alternative courses and see what I can find. But yes, I am prepared to learn what I need to pass the certification exam, then throw it out the window lol.

yeah, that's pretty much what you have to do if you want to get a normal accreditation.
