OH GAWD NO. I can't help it, I found my parents "lean protein" (fake meat tube) and said sarcastically, "Mmmm hydrolized soy protein!" I just don't get how when we talk about eating real whole foods and they order tofu for dinner.

Speaking of Frakenfoods apparently on the Mars mission that is what they will be eating, I guess that's not a surprise. Here's a quote from an article, NASA Plans Menu for Travelers Dropping in on Mars in 2030:

Already, Cooper's team of three has come up with about 100 recipes, all vegetarian because the astronauts will not have dairy or meat products available.

They will even have Tofu Bacon! This will help them to not feel alienated from their beloved blue/green planet.

It is Ramadan over here, went out with friends last night for coffee and shesha (water pipe, I know, not primal). I tried something new last night called Shahlab.

Holy shit is this stuff addicting!

My GOTD is, why did I have to try it?

Guess it will be part of my 20% and I'll have one each week.

Here is a description of it:

    "Sahlab (Orchid – Orchis Mascula):

Basically made out of dried and crushed orchis mascula, other ingredients include sesame seeds, Coconut, sugar, milk, and topped with raisins and nuts. It is very sweet and served hot, best way to warm up nice in the winter. The best Sahlab is usually found at coffee shops. You will not find it at Starbucks though."

There has got to be a way to make this more primal...

Oh damn, Texas, why'd you have to post that? Now I want to try some.

GOTD: Hearing a very sad sob-story from a customer and having no emotional reaction past "well give us the paperwork we asked for, already." Shit, they are turning me into a soulless cog. I used to care.

    Soon. I'll be out soon.

A guy came into my work the other day looking for a "healthy" snack. I work at Cracker Barrel btw. Anyway, I told him that aside from ordering a salad or a steak from the restaurant, he would be out of luck... He told me that a steak was not healthy and ordered a blueberry muffin and a bag of pretzels. Lol... that's my gripe for the day... well the only one appropriate for this forum anyway

Sorry about that Owly....but on the plus size, I found out last night that I can buy raw milk over here so now if I can make the other ingredients primal enough, I can have it with raw milk!

Imagine that, I can't buy raw milk in the "land of the free" but I can buy it, without restriction, in Egypt.

    Go figure.
