day four eating primal: major headache all day! HELP!

    Primal Fuel
    greetings everyone,

so this is day four for me, day three was the hardest so far. i was in bed last night thinking i did not want eggs again for breakfast! however, i woke up and felt fine and had some bacon and eggs. i have been eating plenty of fat and protein, only 47 carbs today. however, i have had a headache all freaking day, is this normal? i am guessing it is my body making the switch from burning carbs to burning fat but wholly crap i want it to end. it almost feels like a hunger headache, however i am NOT hungry! someone just tell me it will end and i will hang in there!

    thanks!

The headache is part of the carb withdrawal. I had them the first 2 weeks of Primal. Just take it easy & know that it will pass. Be sure to drink LOTS of water and get to bed early. It will help.

I had really bad all day headaches after starting primal. Ones that Advil and Tylenol didn't relieve. (I also gave up coffee at the same time, so this may have made the headaches even worse) I was actually quite concerned and posted here because they were so bad. I'm happy to say that they did go away, but it took about 2-2 1/2 weeks. Not fun!

If you're consistently hitting under 50g of carbs a day, your body can slip into ketosis. I did this initially as well when I started eating primally. Maybe throw in an extra piece of fruit a day and see if that helps, otherwise just take it slow. Also, be careful when you sit up from laying, or stand up from sitting too quickly. My blood pressure fluctuated a lot initially, and I blacked out for a few seconds a couple times while standing up. Luckily, I didn't fall over, but it could still happen. Just a heads up!

This happens to me ALL. THE. TIME! Even pre primal. A doctor once told me to take 3 deep breaths before I got up, and that would help. Sometimes my blood pressure is a little TOO healthy

Did you also drop coffee? That can give you withdrawal headaches as well.

Headache in the early stages = carb withdrawal. You are kicking the carb habit. Eat fat, hang in there, it gets better faster than you think.
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.
