    Cool Advice for seniors

    I'd like to see some advice for seniors. Are the calories used the same for figuring out how many calories you need to lose weight? I can't squat any more. Is just attempting to squat the same as doing it? etc. Does Grok even have a grandma? Thanks for any advice specific to lower thyroid, lower energy, etc. due to aging and can this energy/flexibility be returned to the earlier levels?

    I'm sure flexibility can be improved. I think people get stiff because they don't stretch themselves anymore. If you do something like, say, try to touch your toes when you bend over to pick up the paper, you will see improvement. Yoga is good. Tai chi is good.

    You can get stronger, seems to take longer for older people.

    Yes, grandma Grokina is alive and well. Grandpa too.

    Seriously, I am 68. I haven't thought too much about adjusting primal for my age. But I would be interested in others' thoughts.

    I think the 5 basic exercises in Primal Fitness is the way to start low and build up.

    I used to do Tai Chi. Can't remember why I quit. I'll start again. Thanks for reminding me!

    I'm mid fifties. Just discovered kettle bells and really enjoy them. you can do a squat type movement with the bells - not as satisfying as balancing iron on your shoulders but effective leg workout. the for dumies bok has a specail section for seniors.
