Probably more common that you think... especially of the family is 'blended' when the children are in/near puberty during middle school and then in high school.
They simply do not have ingrained taboos against seeing each other as sexual objects as they have been raised separately... as far as their brains/sexual organs are concerned it's no different that meeting on the first day of school.
