With the weather cooling down a hot toddy sounds great...not as great as hot totty but still....

somehow I manage to leave my intelligence and decorum at the door wherever I go. I doubt your journal will be an exception to that - not on the rug

Sadly the Mrs is allergic to alcohol so no hot toddys for her. Actually, all she drinks is Diet Coke.

on a seperate note, I just got back from my audiology appointment. It seems given my current rate of hearing decline I have about 2 years left before I'll be required to wear a hearing aide to keep my job (regulation states we have to have a certain level of hearing). As such, those of you employed on various military posts - feel free to push over any motorcycles or key any loud vehicles you happen to come across. (not really, just think about it...it is the thought that counts).

We had the decibel levels at the gates tested and OSHA requires an average of 85 decibels over 8 hours for noise to be considered too high. We are at 83. Of course our noise is intermittent and even the tester said that the levels were too high the average was just killed by the dead spaces (when vehicles are not coming). Sadly, that doesn't matter.

We're working on getting hearing protection for all the guards and then we get to see if the chain-of-command throws a fit about us wearing them.

That sucks, sorry. As a singer, that would be devastating to me. Off to vandalize vehicles on your behalf.

I'm thinking about it vandalizing that scooter that passes by our apartment every evening... I swear, it must not have an exhaust pipe.

I wonder how many soldiers DON'T have tinnitus of some sort.

My guess is that most do. Hearing loss is the #1 claimed disability among veterans.

Bummer on the allergy situation, just made you a good cocktails suggestion on my page. Alas...

Bummer on the hearing thing too. I'll be out vandalizing with Pebbles...

    Thanks

On the bright side, it means I can drink and K is the designated driver. I will also be unable to hear how obnoxious of a drunk I am

I've never heard of anyone being allergic to alcohol.............. I'm going to look up the symptoms. If I can convince myself I'm allergic I will have a very good reason to become a teetotaler! (as I was for the first 40 years of my life!)
