No, no you really don't.

(not to imply that New Zealanders have English accents. I just find it amusing how we assume that all persons from a certain country sound the same. America has its share of horrendous accents so why would other countries not?)
You should hear what an English person who's lived in Australia for 20 years sounds like!

somehow I manage to leave my intelligence and decorum at the door wherever I go. I doubt your journal will be an exception to that - not on the rug

I've been in Aus for five years now and everyone here thinks I talk Brit, but my friends and family at home tease me about a twang. On my last trip home I could hear the oyle o woight vowels return - most odd, particularly as before this recent sojourn I'd spent ten years in London and before that several years oop north. No AQI though, so that's something at least.

Hmmmm....I am envisioning a 'wtf do you sound like?' feature in this journal shortly. Get your recording devices ready

(kidding as my speaking voice is much like a frog being strangled by a screech owl while someone saws sheet-metal in the background)

a long long time ago, and that is the strange thing...singing voices and speaking voices are completely different. As a good friend once said, "Someone who talks like a frog should not sing that way." Strange world

The reason singing voices and speakig voices are so different is that they use different parts of the brain. That's part of why lispers and stutterers are encouraged to singsong problematic words.
