Hmm...I just realized I would dislike organized religions less if they did not denegrate snakes unnecessarily.

No, it was part of Trish's post on the staff of life. All in all not a bad post until the snake bashing. Much like my ex-mother-in-law who hated snakes because of the Bible. Yeah, the devil fucks with one lizard and people hate snakes - please, if you read the Bible properly and end up liking people but hating snakes there is something wrong. People are the real criminals in that Book O'fun.

And, no, bacon wouldn't help. Churches annoy me. I have no issues with God but have zero desire to be organized religiously.

The bible never caused me to dislike snakes. I just kind of think they're creepy. Sort of got over my fear of snakes when my bio teacher in 9th grade tossed one at me. After I realized what he did, I jumped, put the snake back in its cage and kicked the teacher. Her post was interesting and I can see the point of why she put it out.

Glad you are. When I was little, one of uncles had a wall that was nothing but a glass snake cage and the scared the living shit out me. I never went into that house ever after I saw that. Pissed me off that it was Grandma's house.

I'd own a (nonpoisonous) snake, iguana, or tuarantula before I'd own a rabbit or a ferret. Rabbits will eat ANYTHING and ferrets are just nasty. Besides, the aforementioned reptilian/ arachnid animals are just COOL!

Iguana's take up a cubic-f*ck-ton of space but they are cool looking.

I used to keep poison arrow frogs. That was fun. But they're so damn tiny and therefore they require tiny food... breeding fruit flies and making sure to have backup cultures in case one crashed and never going on vacation got old fast.

I bred Jackson's and carpet chameleons for a bit, too. Made $$$ but again, too annoying to breed food just to feed them affordably.
