Furlough day...going to the farmer's market and mexico. Beats going to work.
somehow I manage to leave my intelligence and decorum at the door wherever I go. I doubt your journal will be an exception to that - not on the rug

Going across the border heading south is a whole lot tougher than going north from what I hears... enjoy your trip!

No, I wouldn't get close to Juarez. That place is a deathtrap.

I go to a much smaller town several hundred miles from Juarez.

Thanks. I've never been to Canada, but I walk across here and it is pretty laid back. Taking a vehicle is a different story.

I've been to San Luis a couple times. You definitely DON'T take your car across the border! Park and walk only. I used to have relatives in Yuma.

Very nice I agree about walking. So much less hassle.

Where does one park if you are going to walk?

There is a town on the other side of the port of entry and next to the port of entry there are a row of stores with parking. Since two of those stores are now empty you can park there with no issues, since they do not need the spots.

Good move, from what I've seen, about the only thing you can get there are a death certificate and a casket.....Still wouldn't mind visiting Mexico though, just one of the more safer joints!
