I don't think I've heard of Jonagolds before.

Delicious are super crisp and fairly tasteless here. I have a Granny Smith that I haven't used (the other one went in the pork slow cooker monstrosity), perhaps I will eat it as-is. I like Braeburns, which are recommended in SO many recipes for some reason, but they can be a bit mealy. I'm always saddened that fresh-picked apples seem to be mealy, but it truly does not matter once they become applesauce! I hope I can make more this year (maybe enough to send out some small jars to friends...).

Mushrooms. Why are you so f'ing delicious? I want mushrooms with eggs NOW. Damn you! And cheese. FML.

They are totally awesome. I have no idea why they are so good, but sweet googly moogly they are.
somehow I manage to leave my intelligence and decorum at the door wherever I go. I doubt your journal will be an exception to that - not on the rug

Yeah, I am officially 'that guy'. You know the "read the books don't just watch the show/movie" guy. That guy used to annoy me, but seriously, if you don't buy/read the books the show/movie would not exist. Support those with original ideas (aka not Hollywood).

I hear "that guy" is also a writer himself...

I always read the books first even if /when it causes disappointment in the movie.

    Back in my misspent youth...indeed.

Yup, I do the same. I figure that way the author makes money twice.
