What if I'm dressed sexy before I dice the onions? Maybe just an apron? What would I do with the onions then?
If I just said LOL, I lied. Do or do not. There is no try.

Well, at that point, I expect your wife to take you right there on the kitchen floor while the soup remains unfinished and unfulfilled.
somehow I manage to leave my intelligence and decorum at the door wherever I go. I doubt your journal will be an exception to that - not on the rug

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Actually, I was thinking, if that is what grandmothers look like in NZ I really need to move. Fountain of Youth much?

So um...do you just buy crab meat at the store? I feel like I've only ever heard of it a) in the shell or b) in a can.

You can use canned, though I can find it here in packets as well - it looks like those packets of tuna only larger and in the refrigerated section. The packet kind tastes better/flakes better than canned. They also have it in plastic containers in the seafood section (at least here they do) - this is also better than canned.

I don't have the patience to shell crab.

I do, but I couldn't shell it and not immediately eat it.

Ah, in that case, you shell it, I will snag it from you before you can eat it. Then while your wife is attacking your only-apron-wearing self I can make and eat soup. Win-Win-Win.

I wouldn't have the patience to shell crab for cooking, but get a few dozen jumbo hardshells, some butter, and I'm in!

Dungeness is pretty easy to shell though. Bigger, meatier.
