    This is why I am married to a mechanic You want to know how to not have a fuel pump go bad? Don't let your gas tank go below a 1/4 tank of fuel. Makes the pump work harder if you do.

    Yeah, it was the summer my folks moved me up to the dorms for the first time. Dallas to Lubbock is only about 5-6 hours, but it felt like 3 lifetimes in hell with no A/C.

    The only time we really stopped on the drive was to crash in El Paso and to eat at PF Chang's in Tucson, anyway.
