    Hey Bacon-Brother!
    Congratulations on the new low!!!
You have the extra-challenge of having to TASTE everything that goes out of your kitchen (hospital, right?)!
I am REALLY impressed by your shrinkage under the conditions you are in.
You are an inspiration, and my hero!
    Cheers!

Please man, you are the one kicking ass over here. 75 pounds gone - you are nailing this. I'm done at the hospital now, which hopefully will help. I only have myself to blame if things go wrong
somehow I manage to leave my intelligence and decorum at the door wherever I go. I doubt your journal will be an exception to that - not on the rug

So my wise journal reading personages...

we are thinking of moving and if we do we will need a second bed. That said, we want something that serves a dual purpose - sitting and occasional sleeping for guests. As such we were considering either a sleeper/sofa or a futon. Now, I have not used either in 10+ years but seem to recall both of them being about as comfortable as stepping barefoot onto a rusty nail covered in slivers of glass. Has their sleepability increased any recently or should I just suck it up and buy a bed?

*Mostly it will be used as a couch for video game play/reading. Occasionally (2-3 times a year) it might get a week's use as a bed.

No to the Futon. Impossible for anyone over 25 to sleep on. I hear there are some comfortable sleeper sofas out there. There is an $800 IKEA sofa (Manstad) that has been highly recommended on a few websites. It seems traditional sofa bed manufacturers have been trying to improve their product with things like memory foam.

We are in the market for a sofa bed too. Let me know if you find anything you like.

I think you meant over 25, Pebbles. But I'm 29 and love my futon. Of course, it's on the floor, so I don't have to deal with the frame digging into me, and most people look at me like I'm nuts when I say I like it.

Same town, new home, or did you get a job elsewhere, finally?

Just say NO to the futon. I try to sleep on a futon every workday... the operative work is try. The futon blows big rocks.....
